Stubbing Out Our Rights campaign

Welcome to the website for the Stubbing Out Our Rights campaign.

This campaign is being run by WISH, and is asking the Government to stop the closure of smoking rooms in mental health inpatient units from 1st July 2008. So far, more than 1,200 people have supported the campaign by adding their name to our petition, either online or on paper.

Update: The High Court have ruled that patients at Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire should not be allowed to smoke at the hospital (BBC News, 20/05/2008).

This is obviously extremely disappointing news, and in light of this, over the next few days we will considering how to proceed with the campaign.
